Bushings play an essential role in guiding motion, reducing friction, and protecting mechanical parts exposed to wear. The MBI range includes solutions made with different materials and technologies, designed to meet various working conditions, loads, and application needs.
Alongside the configurations available in the catalog, custom bushings can be developed based on project characteristics and required performance. A broad and flexible offering, intended for numerous industrial sectors and supported by technical expertise in selecting the most suitable type.
The MBI range brings together different types of bushings, each developed according to specific construction and functional characteristics.
The first five families in the range belong to the sliding bushings category. They are distinguished by composition, lubrication method, and performance, offering specific alternatives based on the conditions required by the application.
Self-lubricating bushings represent the historical core of MBI’s specialization. Their composite structure, with a steel backing and PTFE-based inner surface, is designed to work dry or with reduced lubrication, limiting friction, wear, and maintenance needs.
The range includes PBF versions with steel, bronze, or stainless steel shells, suitable for rotary, oscillating, and linear movements. In addition to catalog configurations, solutions developed according to application specifications can be evaluated.
RL relubricatable bushings feature a multilayer structure composed of a steel backing, porous bronze, and polyacetal resin. The indentations on the sliding surface retain grease, creating lubricant reservoirs useful for limiting friction, wear, and maintenance interventions.
They are suitable for applications characterized by high loads, oscillating or rotary movements, and intermittent operation. Their composition also helps compensate, within certain limits, for any misalignments and to dissipate heat generated during use. “Smooth” versions without indents and/or versions that can be machined with extra material are available upon request.
CJ bimetal bushings combine a low-carbon steel backing with an anti-friction alloy layer of various types (bronze, aluminum, etc.). This structure offers high load capacity and good resistance to stress, while keeping the friction coefficient low.
They are suitable for applications characterized by high sliding speeds and heavy-duty working conditions. The range is available in metric and inch sizes, according to DIN 1494 and ISO 3547 standards.
CW bushings are made with high-density copper alloy and specific compositions, chosen to offer good load capacity and high fatigue resistance. The structure allows for uniform use of the bearing surface, making these solutions suitable for continuous use and demanding working conditions.
Available in metric and inch sizes, according to DIN 1494 and ISO 3547 standards, they can also be supplied in custom-designed configurations.
W500 bushings are self-lubricating solutions made of a high-strength brass-based alloy, into which a solid lubricant is incorporated. This composition reduces the need for external lubrication and maintains reliable performance even in demanding working conditions.
They are suitable for heavy-duty applications characterized by high loads, significant temperatures, or infrequent movements. Graphite or PTFE inserts promote smooth sliding and help limit friction and wear over time.
Unlike sliding bushings, steel spring bushings utilize the properties of spring steel to ensure stability, resistance, and precision during assembly. Press-fitted into the housing, they adapt to the seat while maintaining a secure fix, while the ground bore allows for precise dimensional tolerances.
The elastic capacity of the material also allows the bushing to absorb shocks and stresses, helping to protect the shaft and limit potential wear phenomena. A solution particularly suitable when simple assembly, reliability, and durability are required.

In the hydraulic sector, PBF bushings can be developed with specific machining to adapt to the application’s characteristics. Lubrication channels, grooves, holes, and dedicated geometries allow the component to be integrated into pumps and hydraulic systems subject to high pressures and stresses.
Each solution is evaluated considering the design, tolerances, operating conditions, and required performance. MBI technical support accompanies the project from the definition of machining to supply management.
The MBI team assists the customer in choosing the most suitable bushing or developing a custom configuration.
